The
Central Wisco music scene just lost a GREAT one...
she
will be missed
Bonnie
J. Garrigan, 37, of Nekoosa, formerly of Plainfield, passed away Wednesday
morning, April 27, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She
was born November 1, 1973, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Merl and
Joyce (Ellis) Hansen.
She
married Kevin A. Garrigan on December 3, 1999.
Bonnie
graduated from Tri-County High School in 1991, and continued her education
at UW-Stevens Point, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She was employed
at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a receptionist. Bonnie
was a talented musician and in 1996, became the lead singer for the Austin
Healey Band. She had a great love for family, friends, camping and snowmobiling.
She
is survived by her husband, Kevin A. Garrigan, Nekoosa; two children, Keagan
and Kelsey Garrigan, at home; her parents, Merl and Joyce Hansen, Wisconsin
Rapids; her brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Jean) Hansen, Brenda (Dennis)
Gerard, Keith (Janet) Hansen, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Kevin (Penny) Hansen,
Kansas City, Kan.; Barbara (Wayne) Challoner, Copper Center, Alaska; her
mother-in-law, Elaine Garrigan, Mauston; further survived by aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
Funeral
services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Leikness
& Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial will be in the Plainfield
Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Bonnie's name has been established.

know people that still believe that America is a free country? Do
you have friends or family that are proud to live in “the land of the free
and the home of the brave”? If you do, just show them this article.
The things that you are about to read are enough to make the blood of any
red-blooded American boil. We don’t live in a free country anymore.
Instead, we live in a “Big Brother” police state control grid that is becoming
more restrictive every single day. Most of our politicians seem to
be control freaks that are obsessed with running every single little detail
of our lives. These days there has to be a “rule” or a “regulation”
for everything. The radical social engineers in the Soviet Union,
Nazi Germany and communist China never even dared to try some of the things
that are going on in America today. We are all being treated little
better than cattle and we are all being taught that it is best to just
sit in our homes and absorb all of the television “programming” that is
being provided for us. Meanwhile, our public schools have become
little more than prison grids. Our children are being taught to enjoy
living as docile slaves in a world where imagination, liberty, freedom
and adventure are all greatly discouraged.
Unfortunately,
none of this is an exaggeration. Our politicians love to give speeches
about “liberty” and “freedom”, but they always seem to have excuses to
justify the endless parade of liberty-killing laws that they are imposing
on all the rest of us.
Almost
all of the freedoms listed in the Bill of Rights have been severely eroded.
In fact, a number of them are almost totally gone at this point.
The things
that you are about to read should make you mad. In fact, if none
of these things make you mad there is a problem. Sadly, millions
of Americans have actually embraced tyranny, and if you are not outraged
by any of the items listed below than you are likely one of them.
The following
are 10 examples that show that we no longer live in the land of the free
and the home of the brave….

According to the ACLU, state police in Michigan are using “extraction devices”
to download data from the cellphones of motorists that they pull over.
This is taking place even if those pulled over are not accused of doing
anything wrong.
The following
is how an article on CNET News describes the capabilities of these “extraction
devices”….
The devices,
sold by a company called Cellebrite, can download text messages, photos,
video, and even GPS data from most brands of cell phones. The handheld
machines have various interfaces to work with different models and can
even bypass security passwords and access some information.

In the state of New York, the Department of Health has designated wiffle
ball, dodge ball, kick ball, freeze tag, red rover, frisbee tossing and
tug of war as “risky recreational activities“. Any organization or
program that allows kids to enjoy these games during the summer will now
be subject to strict government regulation according to the New York Daily
News….
Under
the new rules, any program that offers two or more organized recreational
activities – with at least one of them on the risky list – is deemed a
summer camp and subject to state regulation.

At one public school in the Chicago area, children have been banned from
bringing their lunches from home. Yes, you read that correctly.
Students at that particular school are absolutely prohibited from bringing
lunches from home. Instead, it is mandatory that they eat the food
that the school cafeteria serves.

Would you like to have your face scanned and your ID recorded every time
you attend a public event? Don’t laugh. The San Francisco Entertainment
Commission is actually proposing a new rule which “would require all venues
with an occupancy of over 100 people to record the faces of all patrons
and employees and scan their ID’s for storage in a database which they
must hand over to law enforcement on request.”

In Delaware, police and state government officials recently tore a basketball
hoop right out of a family’s front yard and carted it away because it was
“too close” to the street. They even extracted the pole for the basketball
hoop out of the ground and took that away too.

In Missouri of all places, two young girls named Abigail and Caitlin Mills
were recently taught a lesson on how to be good citizens in the emerging
totalitarian control grid going up all over the United States. After
a complaint from a neighbor, the city of Hazelwood cracked down on the
two girls and told them that they must stop selling girl scout cookies
in their own front yard.

As I have written about previously, federal bureaucrats have outlawed the
incandescent light bulbs that we all grew up with and will be forcing us
to switch over to new CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) light bulbs that are
more expensive and that are actually worse for the environment. One
new study conducted by scientists in Germany has shown that the new CFL
light bulbs that we are being forced to use contain poisonous carcinogens
that are likely cause cancer. In fact, the German scientists say
that these CFL bulbs should be “kept as far away as possible from the human
environment”.

Many
states are aggressively seizing “unclaimed” safe deposit boxes and are
selling off the contents and using the money to pay state government bills.
In the state of California, they are now going after safe deposit boxes
if the owners have had “no contact” with the bank for just 3 years.
Other states are being nearly as aggressive. If you have a safe deposit
box that you have not opened in a while you need to go check on it right
away.

One
Mississippi state judge recently issued an order for state officials to
gather and deliver to him the names of every single child that is being
homeschooled in the state. The frightening thing is that the judge
did this all on his own. Nobody requested this information and there
is no case pending for which this information would be required.

The TSA had promised that they were going to stop groping little children
at airports, but apparently that is not the case. For example, one
6 year old little girl made headlines recently when a TSA worker touched
all of her private areas before allowing her to get on an airplane.
Her parents were forced to stand aside and watch this outrage take place.
So what
do all of you think about this list?

New
World Powers Move to Shove Dollar Aside
China
and four other leading high-growth economies have taken landmark steps
toward lowering the importance of the dollar in international financial
transactions — part of a seminal shift in the move towards a multicurrency
reserve and trading system.
Addition
of South Africa to the former BRICS format seems to have galvanized the
grouping. The five countries agreed to expand use of their own currencies
in trade with each other — an important step toward putting the dollar
into a new downsized place. One key influence is the annual expansion of
China’s trade volume with other core countries by 40% in 2010 — and the
buoyancy looks set to continue. The BRICS’ state development banks, including
the China Development Bank, agreed to use their own currencies instead
of the dollar in issuing credit or grants to each other — and they will
also phase out the dollar in overall settlements and lending among each
other.
If the
renminbi (the official currency of China) were to become a fully fledged
reserve currency, of course, it would have to go down as well as up — marking
enormous risks along the journey for the renminbi to assume a greater international
role. For all of these reasons, Beijing will proceed with utmost caution
in relaxing its restrictions for the currency to circulate freely overseas.
The last
few days, make no mistake about it, mark an important step along this path
— but there is a long way to go still.

Muslim groups are proposing a 13-story $100 million mosque in the most
prominent spot in America – the heart of downtown New York City near the
World Trade Center site. Is this mosque a sign of America's tolerance,
or is it a sign of Muslim conquest?
The past may hold answers:
In 630, Muhammad led 10,000 Muslim soldiers into Mecca and turned the
pagans' most prominent spot, the Ka'aba, into the Masjid al-Haram Mosque.
In 634, Rightly Guided Caliph Umar conquered Syria and turned the Christians'
most prominent spot, the Church of Job, famous for being visited by Saint
Silva in the fourth century, into the Mosque of Job.
In 637, Caliph Umar conquered Hebron and turned the second-most prominent
spot in Judaism, the Cave of the Patriarchs, into the Ibrahimi Mosque.
(This was repeated by Saladin in 1188.)
In 638, Muslim generals Amr ibn al-As and Khalid ibn al-Walid conquered
Gaza and turned the prominent fifth-century Byzantine church into the Great
Mosque of Gaza.
In 638, Caliph Umar conquered Jerusalem. In 691, Caliph Al-Malik ordered
the Dome of the Rock built on the most prominent spot in Judaism, the Temple
Mount, followed by Caliph Al-Walid building the Al-Aqsa Mosque there in
705.
In 651, Muslims conquered Persia and turned Zoroastrian temples in
Bukhara and Istakhr into mosques.
In 706, after Muslims took Damascus from the Byzantine Empire, Caliph
Al-Walid turned the prominent Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist into
the Umayyad Mosque.
In 710, Gen. Muhammad bin Qasim conquered Pakistan, defiled the prominent
Sun Temple in Multan, which house the great idol "sanam," and erected a
mosque.

In 784, after the conquest of Spain, Emir Abd ar-Rahman turned the
prominent Visigothic Christian Church of Saint Vincent into the Great Aljama
Mosque of Cordoba.
After the conquest of Egypt, Caliphs al-Mamun (813-833) and al-Hakim
(996–1021) turned prominent Coptic Christian churches and Jewish synagogues
in Cairo into mosques.
In 831, Muslims conquered Palermo, Sicily, and Asad ibn al-Furat turned
the prominent Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption into the Great Mosque
of Bal'harm.
In 1193, Muslims conquered Delhi, India, and Qutbuddin Aibak turned
the Red Citadel in Dhillika, the most prominent spot of the last Hindu
rulers, into the Qutb Minar Mosque.
From 1250-1517, Mamluk Muslims controlled the Golan Heights and used
the ancient Synagogue of Katzrin as a mosque.
In 1387, Turkish Muslims conquered Thessaloniki and turned the Katholikon
Monastery and the Church of Aghia Sophia, which housed the relics of Saint
Gregorios Palamas, into mosques, as Symeon of Thessaloniki recorded:
"The greatest number of the buildings of the churches fell to them,
of which the first was the Holy Church of the Savior. … These were trampled
underfoot and the infidels rejoiced in them. … Most of the religious buildings
in the city were despoiled, while altars were demolished and sacred things
profaned."
On May 29, 1453, Sultan Mehmet II conquered Constantinople and turned
the great Byzantine church, Hagia Sophia, into the Ayasofya Mosque. The
largest church in Christendom for a thousand years, the church's four acres
of gold mosaics were covered with whitewash and Quran verses.
In 1458, Sultan Mehmet II conquered Athens and turned the Greeks' most
prominent spot, the Parthenon on Acropolis hill, into a mosque. When Venetian
Gen. Francesco Morosini drove the Muslims out in 1687, a cannonball hit
the gunpowder stored in the mosque, blowing it up.
In the 15th century, Ottoman invaders turned Saint Clement's Macedonian
Orthodox Monastery in Plaosnik, Balkans, into the Imater Mosque.
From 1519-1858, Muslim Mughal rulers gained control of India and turned
over 2,000 Hindu temples into mosques, including demolishing the Temple
of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Rama, and replacing it
with the Babri Mosque.
India's Mughal Muslim ruler, Jahangir (1605-1627), wrote in Tujuk-i-Jahangiri:
"At the city of Banaras [was] a temple. … I made it my plea for throwing
down the temple … and on the spot, with the very same materials, I erected
the great mosque."
In 1543, Hayreddin Barbarossa's 30,000 Muslim troops wintered in Toulon,
France, and turned the prominent Toulon Cathedral into a mosque.
In 1570, under Sultan Selim II Khan, Muslims conquered Paphos, Cyprus,
and Gov. Mehmet Bey Ebubkir turned the prominent Christian church into
the Great Mosque of Paphos.
In 1571, Muslims invaded Famagusta, Cyprus, and turned Saint Nicolas
Cathedral, a rare Gothic church, into the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, and
Saint Sophia Cathedral in Nicosia, constructed in 1228, into the Selimiye
Mosque.
In 1588, Sultan Murat III turned the Eastern Orthodox Church of Saint
John the Forerunner in Constantinople into the Hirami Ahmet Pasha Mosque.
In 1781, after having conquered the Old City of Acre, Ottoman Muslims
turned the Roman Catholic church built by Crusaders into the Jezzar Ahmet
Pasha Mosque, where a hair from Muhammad's beard is preserved.
In 1923, Muslims expelled Greeks from Turkey and turned Orthodox churches
into mosques.
In World War II, Nazis allied with Bosnians and turned the prominent
Artists' Gallery Museum in Zagreb, Croatia, into a mosque.
In the 1950s, Muslims expelled Jews from Arab lands and turned synagogues
into mosques.
Algerian Muslims warred against French colonial rule till France pulled
out in 1962, after which the Cathedral of St. Philippe was turned into
the Ketchaoua Mosque. Violence against Jews caused 30,000 to flee and the
Great Synagogue of Oran was turned into the Mosque Abdellah Ben Salem.
In 1974, Turkish Muslims invaded northern Cyprus, and prominent Greek
Orthodox churches were turned into mosques.
In 1981, Muslim immigrants to the Netherlands converted Amsterdam's
historic Catholic Sint-Ignatiuskerk into the Fatih Mosque, and a synagogue
in The Hague into the Aksa Mosque.
On Sept. 11, 2001, Muslim terrorists attacked the most prominent spot
in America, the World Trade Center. In less than 10 years, the number of
mosques in New York City has skyrocketed to over 140.
In light of history, reasonable citizens have a right
to question if the mosque proposed at Ground Zero
is a sign of America's tolerance, or a sign of Muslim
conquest?
Or perhaps even a sign of America's

Fair and all my Wisconsin Spirit of the Wild BloodBrothers, it is with
a heavy heart that I write you on behalf of my killer band and commando
road crew, attempting to adequately express how shattered we are that Mother
Nature brought our wonderful, joyous musical celebration to an early halt
last week at your grand event. We were all dedicated and gung-ho to carry
on in spite of the horizontal rain, but when my technical czar determined
that the extensive rain on stage and drenched amplifiers posed a genuine
life and death threat to the band, the good heroes of Marshfield's finest
escorted me off stage for our own good.
Thank God for them, really,
because goofy old me would have certainly kept rocking, and it would have
been tragic if the WhackMaster didn't survive for the greatest hunting
season of my life.I can't thank you all enough for all these incredible
years of intense support for my music. I feel a kinship far beyond that
for our honorable hunting, fishing and trapping lifestyle that we all share.
I sincerely thank the Central Wisconsin State Fair and everyone involved
for their professional and valiant efforts during the rainstorm. You people
ROCK! May you enjoy the greatest hunting season of your life, and may my

There's been something noticeably absent from the media coverage of
the oil spill. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has tallied hundreds
of dead birds, sea turtles, and dolphins drenched with oil. But where are
the photos?
The reason you're not seeing many is because BP doesn't want you to.
They've barred workers from sharing photos of oiled wildlife and, according
to locals, have been whisking away dead and injured wildlife to buildings
and offshore ships.
Why does this matter?
The American public needs to see the tragic reality of the impact our
addiction to oil has on our wildlife, our environment, and our future.
Because ultimately BP is not the only one responsible for this catastrophe;
we all are.

Hamlet's Energy Policy
Obama
is proving to be as indecisive on energy policy as he is on so many other
things. He is a leader as indecisive as Hamlet.
Consider his actions on Afghanistan. Obama ran on the
promise of making Afghanistan the focus of our military efforts, claiming
it was, unlike Iraq, a legitimate and important war. But when the new general
Obama selected to conduct that war recommended a decisive surge, Obama
spent months in agonizing deliberation, and then sent only a portion of
the troops his general had requested.
Prince Hamlet, in describing himself, describes Obama
no less well: "And thus the native hue of resolution / Is sicklied o'er
with the pale cast of thought / And enterprises of great pith and moment
/ With this regard, their currents turn awry / And lose the name of action."
President Obama's handling of energy policy shows
the same indecision. He campaigned on a promise of making America energy-independent,
ceaselessly bashing the Bush administration for doing nothing in that regard.
He promised endless green energy, which would producing millions of green
jobs and (during the period when oil prices spiked) more oil and nuclear
energy. But in office, Obama has only dithered. During his first year,
he merely threw some money at "renewable" energy while spending all his
time on health care "reform."
After a year, he finally condescended to address nuclear
power and greater domestic oil drilling. He made a big show of allowing
federal loan guarantees for a new nuclear plant, but he made no effort
to lower the massive regulatory and licensing hurdles that impede construction
of new plants. Nor did he raise a finger to stop the closure of the Yucca
Mountain site for storage of nuclear waste. And he never attempted to plot
a broad path for the expansion of nuclear power.
What would a decisive leader have done? First, to
get residents of Nevada to support a waste site, offer them a yearly cash
payment. This payment would be like the payment Alaska residents get for
allowing oil drilling in their state and would be paid for by a tax on
all nuclear power. Second, set up a commission of the best minds in the
industry, headed by someone with strong pro-environmentalist and pro-nuclear
credentials, to chart a course for the construction of three hundred new
plants and upgrades for the existing plants over the next two decades.
The commission would select the safest, most efficient current feasible
design and lay out a timetable for building the first fifty new plants
of the same design (to minimize costs, enable the mass training of new
personnel, and ensure that trained personnel could readily move from plant
to plant). That commission would also select the design of the first group
of fast breeder reactors and reprocessing plants.
None of this has been done, needless to say, or even
contemplated, by our President Hamlet.
Even more risible is Obama's so-called oil policy.
Again, after a year of doing nothing to allow increased oil production,
indeed, having his Interior Secretary Salazar put even more of the continent
and continental shelf off-limits, Obama decided to offer a bone to the
people who want more domestic oil production. He announced that he would
open a few areas for exploration, while putting off the actual drilling
that had been scheduled. It was a frivolous and pathetic excuse for a policy
on drilling.
The came the British Petroleum (BP) oil rig disaster.
On April 20, a still-unexplained explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig
led to a massive leak. Within days, it was discovered the containment valve
system at the base of the well had failed, and oil was leaking. At that
point, a decisive president would have immediately flown to the site of
the disaster, put the Interior Secretary in charge of an immediate, all-out
federal effort, and coordinated with BP and all relevant state officials
to contain the spill and prepare for the inevitable clean-up. All available
Coast Guard and Naval vessels of any conceivable use to help in the containment
and cleanup efforts would have been brought into play, alongside private
vessels.
A decisive president would also announce that he was
assembling a group of non-partisan scientists and engineers (like the group
set up to investigate the Challenger space shuttle disaster) to investigate
what caused the explosion, how it could have been prevented, why the valve
systems that were supposed to stop any spillage failed, how that can be
rectified going forward, and what reliable backup systems can be added
in the future.
A hypothetical decisive president would have made
clear to the American people that the oil industry is basically sound,
that the last domestic oil disaster occurred over forty years ago, in spite
of all the thousands of oil rigs that have weathered all the hundreds of
hurricanes, major storms, and earthquakes that have occurred during all
those decades.
Indeed, this mythical decisive leader would make the
further point that continued expansion of domestic drilling is still absolutely
necessary and that he would couple leasing new areas for oil companies
to drill with the requirement that these companies kick in for a fund to
come up with even more safety technology and even more backup systems to
stop this sort of disaster from recurring.
Additionally, this chimerical decisive president would
make the point that if we open up land areas such as ANWR, spills would
be even rarer and easier to handle. He would argue that in this as in so
many other areas, environmental activists have gotten policies enacted
that in fact hurt the environment.
But Obama was not and is not decisive. In fact, his
response to the disaster was as bizarrely conflicted as it was grotesquely
dilatory. He spent twelve days in Washington essentially doing nothing
-- oh, wait, there was the Washington Correspondents' Dinner! -- while
the oil spill rapidly ballooned. It took him ten days to send his EPA chief
and Interior Secretary down with a squadron of lawyers, apparently under
the daffy theory that lawyers are better than engineers at fixing technological
problems. (The interior department's chief of staff Tom Strickland was
late in joining the party, as he was busy river-rafting in the Grand Canyon.
Yes, these people love nature!)
Now, some are calling this "Obama's Katrina," comparing
Obama's inaction now to Bush's alleged inaction to Hurricane Katrina. But
this comparison is unfair -- to Bush.
First, while during and immediately after the Katrina
flooding there was a hurricane blowing through the region, there was no
bad weather in Obama's case to stop him from flying down immediately.
Second, the primary responsibility for dealing with
the New Orleans disaster lay with its fatuous mayor, Ray "Chocolate City"
Nagin, who was too busy arranging for his own family to move to Houston
to bother using the city's numerous school buses to get people out (despite
Bush's urging immediate evacuation). Also impeding the Feds was the air-headed
governor of Louisiana at the time, Kathleen Blanco.
But the BP oil rig disaster took place over fifty
miles out at sea, well beyond the jurisdiction of any affected state. It
was from the outset solely a federal matter.
Obama has now issued a timeline showing what he has
done on this disaster (including, as if he should get compliments for it,
the work BP has been doing). But to wait until nearly two weeks after the
explosion to even visit the scene, while the crisis grew to become the
greatest oil-caused ecological disaster in history, speaks volumes about
how fundamentally frivolous Obama is about energy policy.

Of all the sneaky tactics practiced in Washington D.C., this recent action
by Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is one of the most insidious: While
no one was looking, he injected amendment language into the Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) that would expand
the powers of the FTC (not the FDA, but the FTC) to terrorize nutritional
supplement companies by greatly expanding the power of the FTC to make
its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.
This
is a little-known secret about the FTC and the nutritional supplements
business: The FTC routinely targets nutritional supplement companies that
are merely telling the truth about their products. Some companies are threatened
by merely linking to published scientific studies about their products.
The
FTC does much the same thing. They target a particular company that's having
success in the natural products marketplace, then they accuse that company
of "inferring" that their products have some health benefit. From there,
the FTC demands that the company engage in paying a massive fine to the
FTC, which the FTC calls "consumer redress" even though none of the money
actually goes to the consumers.
If you
try to fight the FTC, they haul you into their own special "FTC courts"
which are not public courts where you have the benefit of a jury, but rather
they are courts where the judges are actually FTC employees and you have
no rights. You are essentially guilty until proven innocent, and virtually
no one has been found innocent by the FTC.
If the
King says you're guilty, then you're guilty
The FTC
also forces you to sign a "consent decree" which involves you admitting
to committing crimes that you have actually never committed. These crimes
include the "criminal misrepresentation of a product" by, for example,
explaining that walnuts help support healthy cholesterol levels or that
cherries ease symptoms of inflammation.
Using
these methods, the FTC has extorted tens of millions of dollars out of
nutritional supplement companies. More importantly, it has terrorized the
industry and put several companies out of business, denying the American
public access to products that could improve their health and prevent disease.
Waxman
wants the FTC to have even more power over your vitamins
Now
Congressman Henry Waxman wants to give the FTC even more powers by allowing
the FTC to write its own laws without Congressional approval. This would
allow a rogue agency to simply invent any new law it wants, such as requiring
nutritional supplement companies to spend hundreds of millions of dollars
"proving" the efficacy of a vitamin before they can sell it.
This
will allow the FTC to utterly circumvent DSHEA -- the law passed in 1994
that provides basic protections to vitamin and supplement manufacturers.
This will result in an FTC war on vitamins and supplements that would no
doubt see this rogue agency attempting to destroy the entire industry and
imprison the founders and executives of all the top supplement manufacturers.
This
is how bad things have become in America today: The criminal CEOs of drug
companies are allowed to commit felony crimes, engage in routine price
fixing fraud and fix their research with fraudulent clinical trials, yet
the FTC and FDA do nothing. But when an honest nutritional supplement company
says something like, "Walnuts are good for your heart," they get threatened
with imprisonment or have their entire life savings stolen away from them
by the FTC through a series of "fines."

the subsidies for each year the couple remains married.
M. Repatriate all illegal immigrants now incarcerated. Encourage all
other illegals to self-repatriate through double taxation on wages and
fines on employers.
International
A. Iraq. Send in Iraqi troops to mop up pockets of resistance. Make
Iraq pay with their oil for the cost of the war. Cordon off Sadr City,
force all residents to leave, then go in and mop up all resistance fighters.
Divide Iraq into three to four sectors; Sunni, Shiite, Kurd, and International.
Next, remove all U.S. troops after above achieved.
B. Iran. One, sanctions embargoes and mine their harbors. Nothing goes

Where did the word
'marijuana' come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish
the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant...as you will read.
The facts cited here, with references, are generally verifiable in the
Encyclopaedia Britannica which was printed on hemp paper for 150 years:
* All schoolbooks
were made from hemp or flax paper until the 1880s; Hemp Paper Reconsidered,
Jack Frazier, 1974.
* It was LEGAL TO
PAY TAXES WITH HEMP in America from 1631 until the early 1800s; LA Times,
Aug. 12, 1981.
* REFUSING TO GROW
HEMP in America during the 17th and 18th Centuries WAS AGAINST THE LAW!
You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to
1769; Hemp in Colonial Virginia, G. M. Herdon.
* George Washington,
Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers GREW HEMP; Washington and Jefferson
Diaries. Jefferson smuggled hemp seeds from China to France then to America.
* Benjamin Franklin
owned one of the first paper mills in America and it processed hemp. Also,
the War of 1812 was fought over hemp. Napoleon wanted to cut off Moscow's
export to England; Emperor Wears No Clothes, Jack Herer.
* For thousands of
years, 90% of all ships' sails and rope were made from hemp. The word 'canvas'
is Dutch for hemp; Webster's New World Dictionary.
* 80% of all textiles,
fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc. were made from hemp until
the 1820s with the introduction of the cotton gin.
* The first Bibles,
maps, charts, Betsy Ross's flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of
Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp; U.S. Government
Archives.
* The first crop grown
in many states was hemp. 1850 was a peak year for Kentucky producing 40,000
tons. Hemp was the largest cash crop until the 20th Century; State Archives.
* Oldest known records
of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization
probably goes back to ancient Egypt.
* Rembrandts, Gainsborough’s,
Van Gogh’s as well as most early canvas paintings were principally painted
on hemp linen.
* In 1916, the U.S.
Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and
that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that
1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement
such programs; Department of Agriculture
* Quality paints and
varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp
seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935; Sherman Williams
Paint Co. testimony before Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act.
* Henry Ford's first
Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONTRUCTED
FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields.
The car, 'grown from the soil,' had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength
was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941.
* Hemp called 'Billion
Dollar Crop.' It was the first time a cash crop had a business potential
to exceed a billion dollars; Popular Mechanics, Feb., 1938.
* Mechanical Engineering
Magazine (Feb. 1938) published an article entitled 'The Most Profitable
and Desirable Crop that Can be Grown.' It stated that if hemp was cultivated
using 20th Century technology, it would be the single largest agricultural
crop in the U.S. and the rest of the world.
The following information
comes directly from the United States Department of Agriculture's 1942
14-minute film encouraging and instructing 'patriotic American farmers'
to grow 350,000 acres of hemp each year for the war effort:
'...(When) Grecian
temples were new, hemp was already old in the service of mankind. For thousands
of years, even then, this plant had been grown for cordage and cloth in
China and elsewhere in the East. For centuries prior to about 1850, all
the ships that sailed the western seas were rigged with hempen rope and
sails. For the sailor, no less than the hangman, hemp was indispensable...
...Now with Philippine
and East Indian sources of hemp in the hands of the Japanese...American
hemp must meet the needs of our Army and Navy as well as of our industries...
...the Navy's rapidly
dwindling reserves. When that is gone, American hemp will go on duty again;
hemp for mooring ships; hemp for tow lines; hemp for tackle and gear; hemp
for countless naval uses both on ship and shore. Just as in the days when
Old Ironsides sailed the seas victorious with her hempen shrouds and hempen
sails. Hemp for victory!'
Certified proof from
the Library of Congress; found by the research of Jack Herer, refuting
claims of other government agencies that the 1942 USDA film 'Hemp for Victory'
did not exist.
Hemp cultivation and
production do not harm the environment. The USDA Bulletin #404 concluded
that hemp produces 4 times as much pulp as wood with at least 4 to 7 times
less pollution.
From Popular Mechanics,
Feb. 1938:
'It has a short growing
season...It can be grown in any state...The long roots penetrate and break
the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year's crop. The
dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds.
...hemp, this new
crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.'
In the 1930s, innovations
in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied
to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating
thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought
America out of the Great Depression.
William Randolph Hearst
(Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly
Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most
paper products. Patty Hearst's grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his
own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp.
In 1937, Dupont patented
the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont's Annual Report
urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics
such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron,
etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would
have ruined over 80% of Dupont's business.
THE TRICKS
Andrew Mellon became
Hoover's Secretary of the Treasury and Dupont's primary investor. He appointed
his future nephew-in-law, Harry J. Anslinger, to head the Federal Bureau
of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
Secret meetings were
held by these financial tycoons. Hemp was declared dangerous and a threat
to their billion dollar enterprises. For their dynasties to remain intact,
hemp had to go. These men took an obscure Mexican slang word: 'marihuana'
and pushed it into the consciousness of America.
MEDIA MANIPULATION
A media blitz of 'yellow
journalism' raged in the late 1920s and 1930s. Hearst's newspapers ran
stories emphasizing the horrors of marihuana. The menace of marihuana made
headlines. Readers learned that it was responsible for everything from
car accidents to loose morality.
Films like 'Reefer
Madness' (1936), 'Marihuana: Assassin of Youth' (1935) and 'Marihuana:
The Devil's Weed' (1936) were propaganda designed by these industrialists
to create an enemy. Their purpose was to gain public support so that anti-marihuana
laws could be passed.
Examine the following
quotes from 'The Burning Question'
aka REEFER MADNESS:
*a violent narcotic.
*acts of shocking
violence.
*incurable insanity.
*soul-destroying effects.
*under the influence
of the drug he killed his entire family with an axe.
*more vicious, more
deadly even than these soul-destroying drugs (heroin, cocaine) is the menace
of marihuana!
Reefer Madness did
not end with the usual 'the end.' The film concluded with these words plastered
on the screen: TELL YOUR CHILDREN.
In the 1930s, people
were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep
waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority.
If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true.
They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of
the baby-boomers.
On April 14, 1937,
the Prohibitive Marihuana Tax Law or the bill that outlawed hemp was directly
brought to the House Ways and Means Committee. This committee is the only
one that can introduce a bill to the House floor without it being debated
by other committees. The Chairman of the Ways and Means, Robert Doughton,
was a Dupont supporter. He insured that the bill would pass Congress.
Dr. James Woodward,
a physician and attorney, testified too late on behalf of the American
Medical Association. He told the committee that the reason the AMA had
not denounced the Marihuana Tax Law sooner was that the Association had
just discovered that marihuana was/is hemp.
Few people, at the
time, realized that the deadly menace they had been reading about on Hearst's
front pages was in fact passive hemp. The AMA understood hemp to be a MEDICINE
found in numerous healing products sold over the last hundred years.
In September of 1937,
hemp became illegal. The most useful crop known became a drug and our planet
has been suffering ever since.
Congress banned hemp
because it was said to be the most violence-causing drug known. Anslinger,
head of the Drug Commission for 31 years, promoted the idea that marihuana
made users act extremely violent. In the 1950s, under the Communist threat
of McCarthyism, Anslinger now said the exact opposite. Marijuana will pacify
you so much that soldiers would not want to fight.
Today, our planet
is in desperate trouble. Earth is suffocating as large tracts of rain forests
disappear. Pollution, poisons and chemicals are killing people. These great
problems could be reversed if we industrialized hemp. Natural biomass could
provide all of the planet's energy needs that are currently supplied by
fossil fuels. We have consumed 80% of our oil and gas reserves. We need
a renewable resource. Hemp could be the solution to soaring gas prices.
THE WONDER PLANT
Hemp has a higher
quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required
to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow
and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where
trees take a lifetime.
ALL PLASTIC PRODUCTS
SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP SEED OIL. Hempen plastics are biodegradable! Over
time, they would break down and not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics,
the ones we are very familiar with, help ruin nature; they do not break
down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast
array of natural (hempen) plastics will not ruin the rivers as Dupont and
other petrochemical companies have done. Ecology does not fit in with the
plans of the Oil Industry and the political machine. Hemp products are
safe and natural.
MEDICINES SHOULD BE
MADE FROM HEMP. We should go back to the days when the AMA supported hemp
cures. 'Medical Marijuana' is given out legally to only a handful of people
while the rest of us are forced into a system that relies on chemicals.
Hemp is only healthy for the human body.
WORLD HUNGER COULD
END. A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds
contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. ALSO: They have
two essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol. These essential
fatty acids are not found anywhere else in nature! Consuming hemp seeds
is the best thing you could do for your body. Eat uncooked hemp seeds.
CLOTHES SHOULD BE
MADE FROM HEMP. Hemp clothing is extremely strong and durable over time.
You could hand clothing, made from hemp, down to your grandchildren. Today,
there are American companies that make hemp clothing; usually 50% hemp.
Hemp fabrics should be everywhere. Instead, they are almost underground.
Superior hemp products are not allowed to advertise on fascist television.
Kentucky, once the top hemp producing state, made it ILLEGAL TO WEAR hemp
clothing! Can you imagine being thrown into jail for wearing quality jeans?
The world is crazy...but
that does not mean you have to join the insanity. Get together. Spread
the news. Tell people, and that includes your children, the truth. Use
hemp products. Eliminate the word 'marijuana.' Realize the history that
created it. Make it politically incorrect to say or print the M-word. Fight
against the propaganda (designed to favor the agenda of the super rich)
and the bullshit. Hemp must be utilized in the future. We need a clean
energy source to save our planet.
The liquor, tobacco
and oil companies fund more than a million dollars a day to Partnership
for a Drug-Free America and other similar agencies. We have all seen their
commercials. Now, their motto is: 'It's more dangerous than we thought.'
Lies from the powerful corporations, that began with Hearst, are still
alive and well today.
The brainwashing continues.
Now, the commercials say: If you buy a joint, you contribute to murders
and gang wars. The latest anti-hemp commercials say: If you buy a joint...you
are promoting TERRORISM! The new enemy (terrorism) has paved the road to
brainwash you any way THEY see fit.
There is only one
enemy; the friendly people you pay your taxes to; the war-makers and nature
destroyers. With your funding, they are killing the world right in front
of your eyes. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY TOBACCO. HALF
A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY ALCOHOL.
Ingesting THC, hemp's
active agent, has a positive effect; relieving asthma and glaucoma. A joint
tends to alleviate the nausea caused by chemotherapy. You are able to eat
on hemp. This is a healthy state of being.
The hemp plant is
an ALIEN plant. There is physical evidence that hemp is not like any other
plant on this planet. One could conclude that it was brought here for the
benefit of humanity. Hemp is the ONLY plant where the males appear one
way and the females appear very different, physically! No one ever speaks
of males and females in regard to the plant kingdom because plants do not
show their sexes; except for hemp. To determine what sex a certain, normal,
Earthly plant is: You have to look internally, at its DNA. A male blade
of grass (physically) looks exactly like a female blade of grass. The hemp
plant has an intense sexuality.

games this past weekend as MANY lop-sided BLOWOUTS occured, including my

the Ocho-Stinkos, the Pats didn't even show up (thankfully) and neither
did Philly. The Packers played from behind all day, made stoooopid mistakes,
and played a much-sloppier game than the 51-45 score shows.
Considering that we
TOTALLY STUNK in weeks 7 and 8, I was very surprised to even make the post-season
BUT we are a MUCH BETTER team than the Cards, we just didn't bring our
A-game and made those dumb errors we are so fond of...
we MUST like flags
as we were the KINGS of them this year.

Twilight-NewMoon
In an effort to 'keep up on the hipness of youth culture'...AND being
a big fan of vampire films...i attended the new installment of Twilight
on the tail of opening weekend box office-setting records. For the record
i REALLY enjoyed the first one and saw it in a theatre full of high school
kids on that opening weekend. this review will be in the minority, no doubt.
Kristen Stewart is a delight that lights up the screen everytime she
appears and will be a true star, Robert Pattinson seemed mechanical and
appeared to sleepwalk through all his scenes-albeit very few of them in
the film, surprisingly...while Taylor Lautner stole the male end of the
show by actually displaying some emotion and talent-although the 'secret'
was out well before they spilled it.
This flick suffered severly from all the main attributes of held by
most great vampire flicks as there was
NO suspense, NO terror, NO surprises, NO gore, NO humor and NO fun!!!!
even the special effects were cheesey and the music was lackluster,
if even existent.
...and the end was such a farce that i had to leave before laughing
so as not to 'spoil the kiddie's fun'.
Worth seeing? MAYBE.
Waste of time? PERHAPS.
Top of youth culture's entertainment pyramid? I SURE HOPE NOT!
The biggest disappointment of this was, much like vampires, a lack of
soul.
It didn't work on the level of a love story either, unfortunately,
as there was more of an "I'm confused" element to all the characters involved
that 'mucked up' that end of the story.
Honestly, as far as 'new' films of this genre go, I'd take "Jennifer's
Body" or even "The Stepfather" over this anyday...Hell gimme "Orphan" or
a good episode of "True Blood".
GLAD i only paid matinee price but also GLAD i saw it on the Mega-screen
as Kristen Stewart is a beauty for the ages!
2 Stars outta 10-a BIG LETDOWN from the first but hopefully
not the death of the series.
*NOW GO WATCH THE CLASSICS: Nosferatu (1922), Dracula ('31), The Devil's
Commandment ('56), Black Sunday ('61), Kiss of the Vampire ('63), Dracula,
Prince of Darkness ('65), The Devil's Mistress ('66), Blacula and The Night
Stalker ('72), Salem's Lot: The Movie ('79), The Lost Boys ('87), Bram
Stroker's Dracula ('92), From Dusk to Dawn and Borello of Blood ('86),
Blade and John Carpenter's Vampires ('88)...or even a spoof like Dracula:
Dead and Loving It. It will be MUCH more entertaining!

The Lizardz had a GREAT time in Wausau at Intermission
this past Saturday...GREAT CLUB with people that actually LISTEN and pay
attention to the live music. We are blessed to have found you (THANKS Kristi
and Josh-for headhunting us in Minocqua!).

Lizardz Hotel Mead-last weekend
THANKS to all that showed up and grooved with us!
The first-set-dancers were a big treat, once again. Please enjoy your
free CDs-you DESERVE them!
The second-set LISTENERS are just as appreciated, if not more. It's
GREAT to know someone's actually paying attention and spotting the QUALITY
level of musicians this band has to offer.
...and those THIRD SETTERS that were drawn in from the bar-RIGHT ON!
Thanks to the Lions Club members that slid in after their convention
too.
We DEBUTED some brand-spankin' new originals in that 3rd set and it
felt GREAT!
The Lizardz have written 6 new songs in the past 2-1/2 months...that's
right, The LIZARDZ-who haven't written more than a few new songs in the
past 5 years
have written 6 new songs in the past 2-1/2 months!
Also THANKS to all that sat-in to jam:
Grant Meyer (from the Grant Meyer Band), Tom, Connie and Jack (from
the aTOMix), Saint Kathy (from MPB)
...and BIGGEST THANKS to our TWO drummers that night-Tim Gessner (Area
51) for bein' backup and ROCKIN' and Tom Clasen for droppin' back in the
fold! What a TROOPER Tom is for playin' 2/3 of show a mere 3 months after
starting rehab from his motorcycle accident...we love ya!

'twas GREAT to get back to Point this past weekend with The Lizardz
at Slo's.
Like a time-travel-trip, this was a wonderful experience into another
dimension...the backyard of Minocqua, SunDrop soda in bottles, a home stereo
system as the bar's 'jukebox', and a 'swell' backyard entrance!
VERY COOL!
'Zardz played well and 2 Rapids' crews showed up for support...MANY

Milo and I tracked local band No Not Now and i got some mixes up'n'runnin'.
this high-school Rapids' 3 piece rock band is spearheaded by axeman Evan
O'Day, whom i am happy to say has drawn from my musical influence since
he was a youngin'.
it's GREAT when the POSITIVENESS of music effects youth in a healthy
way.
(BTW-the new New York Dolls album, produced by the ever-amazing TODD
RUNDGREN, is excellent-BUY IT TODAY!)

Cleartone Strings
Testimonial
I have tried many different strings over the decades of playing and
performing (live and in the studio) but have never found something that
could bend so well and stay in tune over multiple shows, until i found
Cleartone. I never really paid much attention to the brand of strings i
used until i discovered these. The way they hold their tone and tuning,
even while bending WAY outside the normal realm, continues to amaze me.
The durability - whether in a smokey bar, basement studio, outdoors, or
a dusty theatre - is astounding! They also seem to last three times as
long as other brands i have used! The residue from my hands has destroyed
strings in the past but this has not been a problem with Cleartone, and
that is something that amazes me.
I have also found that it takes A LOT to break them (and i have tried)!
They also carry great tone from low to high - and that's quite incredible.
THANK YOU for making such a high-quality product and teaching me that
string brand can make a HUGE difference.
